Palo Alto, CA · Peninsula · Operator-owned fleet

Palo Alto charter bus rental from the company that answers the phone.

Palo Alto is about 30 minutes down US-101 from our South San Francisco yard, and on a Stanford weekend the vehicles are staged the night before rather than fighting the same traffic your guests are. No marketplace, no subcontractor, no 20–40% broker margin between you and the operator. One number, 415-909-4012, and the person who picks it up can see where every bus is.

The runs our drivers already know

Road miles are from University Avenue at the Palo Alto Caltrain station and times are typical off-peak. Campus work here is about approved routing and staging more than distance, and we plan both before quoting.

Why it matters who owns the bus

Direct operator vs. national booking marketplace

Most sites ranking for "charter bus Palo Alto" do not own a single vehicle. They resell operators like us and add a margin. Here is what changes when you skip that layer.

What Palo Alto charters typically cost

Ranges are published so you can budget before you call. On campus dates the hold time is the real cost driver, and we would rather show it on the quote than discover it on the day.

Minibus, 24–35 passengers$150–$175/hr

Driver included. Five-hour minimum, so a half day runs $750–$875. Campus loops, downtown shuttles, SJC transfers, ceremony guest runs.

Motorcoach, 56 passengers$190–$245/hr

Driver included. Quoted per itinerary on top of the hourly rate because deadhead, tolls and return time change the total.

Recurring shuttle programContract rate

Daily Page Mill and Hillview routes for Palo Alto employers. Monthly invoicing, PO-based billing and net terms.

Always included: driver, fuel, standard insurance, live tracking. Quoted separately: tolls, parking, driver overnight on multi-day trips, gratuity if you choose to add it.

Palo Alto FAQ

Answers from the people who dispatch the buses

How much does a charter bus cost in Palo Alto?

A half-day (5-hour) 24-35 passenger minibus in Palo Alto typically runs $750–$875 including driver, fuel and insurance. A 56-passenger motorcoach is quoted per itinerary. On Stanford dates the hold time between the drop and the return is usually the biggest line, and we show it rather than averaging it into a flat rate.

Do you run Stanford game day and commencement shuttles?

Yes, regularly. Our drivers use the approved motorcoach routing through Palm Drive and Campus Drive and the designated staging near the stadium, and we build the post-game or post-ceremony hold into the quote because campus lots do not clear on demand.

Which airports do you serve from Palo Alto?

San Jose (SJC, about 17 road miles and the closest), San Francisco (SFO, about 23 miles) and Oakland (OAK, about 35 miles). We track flights on all three and stage the vehicle so an arriving group is not standing at the curb with luggage.

Can you run a recurring shuttle for a Palo Alto employer?

Yes. Page Mill and Hillview corridor loops between employee parking, the campuses and the Caltrain platform run on a contract rate, with fixed departures, the same drivers assigned, a live GPS link for your workplace team and monthly invoicing against a PO.

Are you a broker or the actual bus company?

We are the operator. Umbrella Global Bus owns the double-deckers, coaches, minibuses and Sprinters, employs the drivers, and runs dispatch and its own maintenance shop from South San Francisco under CPUC TCP 0037963 and USDOT 3126263. There is no reseller margin on the operator rate.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance for Stanford or a Palo Alto venue?

Yes, usually the same business day. Campus and city venues typically require specific limits and additional insured wording, plus a vehicle and driver list for access. Because the fleet is ours, we can issue all of it from our own policy without waiting on a third party.
